NATCHITOCHES – Having finally found the momentum they have been searching for weeks to obtain, the Northwestern State tennis team is now in position to claim its first win streak on the season.

The Lady Demons (3-3, 2-3) are set to host McNeese (1-11, 1-4) Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex.

"With the progress we have made both individually and as a whole in recent weeks, we are definitely looking forward to hosting another in-state conference rival in McNeese tomorrow," head coach Jonas Brobeck said. "We have built upon each match so far this season and have been trending upward after every match, win or lose. Southeastern Louisiana was another step up for us, and we are all excited to see what we learned from it tomorrow."

Senior Emilija Dancetovic has put on a show of force in the opening stretch of the Lady Demons' season, having won five of her first six singles matchups. She also remains undefeated in doubles thus far on the No. 3 court with partner Dorota Szczygielska.

Judit Castillo Gargallo and freshman Viktorie Wojcikova have both gained a foothold as well heading into the weekend's final match, as both have taken their last two doubles matches together on the No. 2 court. Castillo Gargallo has taken victory in her last three singles outings as well, while Wojcikova is in the hunt of her third consecutive.

In search of its third-straight team win, NSU spent the morning in between the weekend's matches in practice and striking a disciplined balance between work and rest.

"McNeese is a well-coached, disciplined squad," Brobeck said. "But we are prepared, ready and looking forward to the challenge."
