Junior Season (2012): Went 4-6 on the mound, including two saves…faced 313 batters, striking out 61 in 76.2 innings…had a 4.29 ERA…pitched five scoreless innings to earn the win over Houston Baptist…gave up just one run in six innings in first win of the season over ULM at the Lady Demon Classic…picked up first save of the season over Southern, striking out three…shutout defending 2011 SLC champs TAMCCU in conference opener when she struck out three and allowed just two hits…picked up a win over SFA pitching 5.2 shutout innings after coming in as relief in the first, getting the Lady Demons out of a bases-loaded jam.
2011 Season: Brooke shined throughout her sophomore season and completed the season as one of the top 10 pitchers in the Southland Conference with a 7-9 record, 2.11 ERA and 131 strikeouts…pitched through 106.1 innings with five complete games and two saves to her credit…hurled a season-high 14 strikeouts in a heartbreaking loss to Nicholls State on May 1…in the SLC opening series, Brooke pitched the last six innings and allowed only one hit while striking out eight to keep McNeese State at bay for the 3-2 win…At Central Arkansas, Brooke hurled a three-hit shutout with eight strikeouts to lead Northwestern State to a 3-2 victory and completed the weekend series with 15 strikeouts and a 1-1 record…struck out six in a four-hit shutout to lead Northwestern State to a 3-0 second-game victory over then-No. 1 ranked team in the conference, Texas-Arlington.
2010 Season: Made 32 appearances in the circle in her first collegiate season as a starter…tallied an even 9-9 record with a 3.55 earned run average…tossed five complete games picked up her best performance of the season after hurling a complete-game, two-hit shutout against Texas-San Antonio…fanned 132 batters and allowed only 5 home runs in 110.1 innings…set a season-best for the young Lady Demon rotation with 16 strikeouts against Sam Houston State Mar. 21.
At Poth HS: Brooke lettered in four years in softball, two in volleyball and one in track and field and basketball…as a freshman, Brooke earned district newcomer of the year in softball…in her sophomore season, her team won two tournaments and reached the regional quarterfinals as she earned first-team all-district honors as a pitcher and all-state honorable mention…in her junior season, Brooke received district MVP honors along with first-team all-state pitcher honors as the team was ranked third and went 32-6 reaching the regional finals. That year, she was the San Antonio area leader in RBI (45) and wins (32)…Brooke was also a first team all-district setter in volleyball her junior year…in her final year at Poth, Brooke earned district MVP and all-state honorable mention in softball as the team went 28-8, ranked first, reaching the regional finals…she also earned all-district Co-Outstanding setter in volleyball her senior year…Brooke was a member of FFA and FCA while at Poth.
Personal File: Born Brooke Marie Boening on December 3, 1990…daughter of Diane and Scott Boening…her mother is an office manager and her father is a dairy farm owner and manager…has two sisters Ryann (18) and Kayla (20)…majoring in Health and Exercise Science with a minor in English…a 3.1 grade point average with a selection on the Dean’s List…she is a member of the Fellowship for Christian Athletes (FCA) and NSU’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)…plans to obtain a master’s degree from NSU and have the opportunity to teach overseas before raising a family.
