Coach Dan Bell on Weaver:  "A great kid who has just gotten surprisingly better. Last year, at times we were just scared he'g get hurt. He worked hard in the offseason and in preseason conditioning. The first scrimmage we had, he scored baskets, made plays and was just a real positive influence on our team. He's done everything we've asked."

1989-90: Redshirt season.

At Panola JC: Mark spent one year at Panola (Texas) Junior College, earning a 3.7 grade point average. he did not play basketball there.

At Natchitoches Central HS:  Averaged 10 points per game as a senior for an 11-16 team. Mark helped Coach J.D. Garrett's Chiefs win 42 games in his three seasons as a varsity player, including a 19-9 record and a second-place finish in District 2-AAAA during his sophomore year. Along with scoring in double figures as a senior, Weaver hit 76 percent of his free throws.

Personal: Robert Mark Weaver is the son of Robert and Sue Weaver. He has one sister, Traci. His father is an automobile dealer. Weaver is a business administration major on track to graduate in May 1992. His nickname is "Beave."
