2022 Season:
• Homered and tied a career high with five RBIs, going 3-for-3, in a May 10 win against ULM.
• delivered the game-winning sacrifice fly in the 10th inning at McNeese on May 7.
• drilled a solo home run as part of NSU's five-home run game in a May 6 win at McNeese.
• drove in NSU's first three runs of a 4-2 win against Houston Baptist on April 23.
• broke a sixth-inning tie with a two-run single to put NSU ahead to stay in an April 16 win at Nicholls.
• set a new career high with his third home run of the season April 10 at Incarnate Word.
• went 2-for-4 with an RBI and his ninth stolen base of the season in an April 2 win against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
• homered and drew his 28th career hit by pitch -- moving into a tie for 10th on NSU's career list -- in the Demons' March 27 win at New Orleans.
• hit safely in six straight games between March 9-17, hitting .429 (9 for 21) in that stretch.
• had a season-best four hits, going 4-for-6 with three runs scored and tying a career high with five RBIs in a March 15 win against Lamar.
• had two hits against Oklahoma on Feb. 27, starting a three-game hit streak.
• batted .412 (7 for 17) in a season-opening, four-game hit streak that included a home run against Stephen F. Austin on Feb. 19 -- his first home run since March 14, 2019.
2021 Season:
• Worked his way into the starting lineup in early April and started the final 30 games of the season in center field.
• ranked 68th nationally in hit by pitch per game (0.3), 70th in on-base percentage (.469) and 95th in hit by pitches (13).
• led Northwestern State with a career-high 15 steals in 17 tries.
• tied his career high with four hits, drove in a run and had an outfield assist in a 7-3 win at LSU on May 18.
• stole four bases in the second game of an April 30 doubleheader at Central Arkansas, tying the school single-game record, and swiped five overall on the day.
• notched his first career four-hit game in the series finale at Houston Baptist on April 18, putting the Demons ahead to stay with a two-run single in the eighth inning.
• was hit by a pitch three times in the second game of an April 11 doubleheader against Lamar, capping a series in which he was hit seven times.
• scored a career-high three runs in a series-opening win against Lamar on April 10.
• hit safely in all four games, including a two-hit series finale, at Abilene Christian from April 1-3.
• made his first start of the season at Sam Houston in Game 1 of a doubleheader on March 20, finishing the series with four walks, a hit and a stolen base.
• stole bases against Austin Peay (March 7) and Tarleton (G1, Feb. 27) as the Demons' primary pinch runner.
• saw his first action in the field against Incarnate Word on March 14, collecting two putouts.
2020 Season:
• Appeared in 10 games, starting six in center field.
• tied for the team lead with three steals.
• had a key two-run double in NSU's 7-1 Southland Conference-opening win against Abilene Christian on March 6.
• drew a bases-loaded walk in the Demons' 11-0 opening-night win against Wichita State on Feb. 14.
2019 Season:
• Appeared in 38 games, starting 19.
• established career highs in virtually every offensive categories, including at-bats (73), runs (22), hits (19), doubles (3), home runs (2) and RBIs (17).
• enjoyed a run of five two-hit games in six games from March 17-27, going 10-for-23 with two doubles, a triple, a home run and five RBIs in that stretch.
• recorded his two outfield assists in a three-game stretch, doing so at Southern (March 27) and at Houston Baptist (March 30).
• hit a leadoff inside-the-park home run against Lamar as part of a three-RBI game, helping the Demons overcome an early four-run deficit in a 10-6 win March 14.
• connected on his first career grand slam, capping a seven-run first inning in a 24-11 win at Abilene Christian on March 7 and giving him a career-high four RBIs.
2018 Season:
• Appeared in 43 games, starting three, in his freshman season.
• was the Demons’ primary defensive replacement in the outfield and its top pinch runner.
• enjoyed a career day against Mississippi Valley State on April 25, going 3-for-4 to record his first career multi-hit game while connecting on his first career double, first career triple and first career home run, driving in five runs.
• picked up stolen bases against Stephen F. Austin (Game 2, April 8) and Abilene Christian (May 12).
• made his first start and collected his first career hit at Texas A&M on March 7.
• scored his first career run in a 7-3 win at Little Rock on March 3.
• made his collegiate debut as a pinch runner in a 3-2 win against Binghamton on Feb. 16.
High School:
• Four-year letterman for coach Troy Templet’s Gators.
• moved to first base as a senior and was named first-team all-district, all-parish and all-metro as St. Amant reached the second round of the state playoffs.
• helped lead the Gators to baseball playoff appearances as a sophomore and as a junior, reaching the quarterfinals as a junior.
• lettered three seasons in football, earning all-state honors as a senior as St. Amant reached the state quarterfinals.
• four-year soccer letterman helped team improve from two wins as a freshman to 20 wins and a quarterfinal appearance as a senior.
• graduated with a 3.0 GPA.
• leader in the St. Amant chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Personal:

• son of Cheryl and David Fontenot.
• two brothers, McKade and Jaron.
• married former Northwestern State volleyball player Victoria Harris in January 2021.
• was offered a chance to play Ausralian Rules Football after high school.
