Summary

Biography

Stephany Washington played a key role in the fortunes of the Lady Demons last season. And this year will be no different.

"Stephany is going to be a key because of her exceptional speed," Coach Pat Pierson stated. "She takes the ball to the hole effectively. It helps your offense when you have someone that can penetrate."

The 5'7" junior guard, because of her speed, is also the finest leaper on the squad. "Even though Stephany is only 5'7", she plays 5'9", " Pierson commented.

You could say Washington's speed and leaping ability paid off as she scored nine points and picked up 3.5 rebounds a game last year. Her season high in 1980-81 was 17 points against Texas Christian.

A Health, Safety and Physical Education major, Washington hopes to go into coaching or become an airline stewardess following graduation.
