It was hoped last season when Tracy was recruited that she would give the Lady Demons some added size. But the 6'2" sophomore from Downsville did more than that...
Playing in all 30 games last year, Taylor stepped in right away to finish fourth in team scoring with a 10.1 clip, and third in rebounding behind veterans Sharon Brown and Marilyn Gates (5.9 average). She was also second in field goal percentage, shooting at an accuracy of .498.
"Tracy's strength, besides her size, is that she can get up and down the court very quickly," coach Pat Pierson commented. "She is very agile for her size, and can play pressure defense up court when we want her to. Not many big people can play a pressing defense, but Tracy can."
In high school, Taylor was an all-state selection for three years, along with being district and parish Most Valuable Player for three seasons. Besides her basketball talents, she was also an all-district softball player.
The Lady Demon center is a physical education major with aspirations of becoming a successful coach.
