LAKE CHARLES – NSU travels to McNeese on Tuesday to continue its five-match road schedule.
The Lady Demons (8-5, 1-1) aim to rebound from a close road loss to UIW.
In her first season at NSU, freshman Maria Farina has put up an 8-3 record in singles with wins against Lamar, UIW and Sam Houston.
Sofi Garcia, a sophomore from Argentina, has continued to help the Lady Demons dominate on the court. She has put up a 9-4 record, playing primarily in the back half of the rotation.
At the No. 1 singles spot, Tjasa Klevisar has wins against Lamar and Sam Houston.
McNeese (16-1, 3-0) carries a 14-match winning streak and leads the Southland Confere.It is coming off a 6-1 win against Southeastern Louisiana.
The Cowgirls are led by senior Emma-Lou Pommiers and junior Arina Gamretkaia.
Pommiers has a 14-1 singles record on the season, competing in the front half of the singles rotation.
Gamretkaia has an 11-1 singles record, all in the No. 1 position, while Anastasija Adeikyte is a perfect 14-0.
The last meeting between the two teams ended with a 4-3 loss for Northwestern State at home. NSU leads the overall series 36-15.
Following the match, the Lady Demons head to Southeastern Louisiana for a match Saturday.
