NATCHITOCHES – The Northwestern State tennis team made quick work of Stephen F. Austin on Sunday, defeating the Ladyjacks 4-0, to conclude its long homestand. 

To start off the match, NSU (8-3) dominated in doubles. 

On No. 3, Sofi Garcia and Maria Farina only allowed one game to defeat SFA 6-1. 

Ayu Ishibashi and Honoka Umeda clinched doubles for the Lady Demons with a 6-2 win on No. 2. 

In singles, Umeda continued her winning streak as she collected her eighth straight singles win, defeating Avery Kinsey 6-3, 6-0 in straight sets, to put NSU in front 2-0. 

Farina defeated Caroline Chiatti in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, at the No. 4 singles position, to make it 3-0. 

Garica clinched the match for the Lady Demons with a 6-2, 6-4 defeat on No. 5. 

Three courts went unfinished. 

The Lady Demons head to Beaumont, Texas, on Friday to compete against NJIT. They will be back at home Saturday for their last home match of the season.
