NATCHITOCHES – To quote Dorothy Gale in the Wizard of Oz, "There's no place like home."

The Northwestern State tennis team has taken full advantage of its string of 12 consecutive matches at home.

NSU (5-2) hosts Grambling at 11 a.m. on Saturday, as it aims to add to make it six in a row at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex.

NSU is coming off a 6-1 win against LSU-Shreveport.

Junior Ayu Ishibashi is aiming to extend her winning streak to seven. The Chiba, Japan, native has been a consistent threat at the No. 4 position, winning five of her six matches at that spot in the rotation.

Maria Farina has won four of her last five singles matches.

Farina has become a dominant force on No. 2 doubles, playing mainly with Tjasa Klevisar. They are 4-1 in doubles on the season at that spot.

Honoka Umeda has been a steady contributor in the back of the rotation, going 3-0 in singles, with wins against Sam Houston and Tarleton State.

Umeda and Ishibashi at the No. 3 doubles pairing have won 6-1 decisions against Tulane and LSU-Shreveport.

Grambling (0-7) last played on Feb. 22 where they fell to La Tech 6-0.

The Lady Demons have 13 wins in the series against the Tigers.

NSU will be back on the court Sunday at 1 p.m. when the Lady Demons host Louisiana Tech.
