Sprints head coach Adam Pennington's comments:
"Grandma Jess (Jessica's nickname) came to us from junior college and shared the same coach as me. She didn't run that well in junior college, so it's very gratifying to see Jessica have the success she has had at Northwestern State, being in range of breaking the school record of 2:11.38. She's been a fun person to work with. She hasn't had anyone to train her before coming here, so it was great for her to have a group of people to train with. I am going to be very sad to lose her. She's a fun one."
