DALLAS -- Northwestern State tennis freshman Antonia Blattner dropped her final match of the tournament as the SMU Mustang Invitational wrapped up Sunday afternoon.
Blattner was beaten 6-0, 6-3 by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's Carolina Bulatovic, failing to pick up a victory this weekend after going unbeaten last weekend at the UL Lafayette-hosted Ragin' Cajun Invitational.
The doubles pairing of Blattner and Emilija Dancetovic fell 6-2 to Kirtana Bhat and Abidullina Adel-Byanu of Central Oklahoma to finish fourth in their draw.
Dancetovic became sick and did not participate in singles.
"We have work to do this week," head coach Patric DuBois said. "After starting our first doubles match of the tournament in an aggressive fashion, we got pushed around a little by more aggressive players for the remainder of the tournament.
"This is not our style. We will work on this in practice this week and get back to the Demons tennis process that makes us a formidable opponent in all of our matches."
Next up for the Lady Demons is the ITA Regional in Oxford, Miss. from Oct. 11-15.
