NATCHITOCHES – Senior javelin thrower Ashley Aldredge hasn't had a shortage of awards in her NSU career, and the Natchitoches native took home one more Friday.
Aldredge earned a USTFCCCA All-Academic honor for her performance on and off the field during the 2016 season.
She attended her second straight NCAA Outdoor Championships this past June, posting her second honorable mention All-American status.
Aldredge graduated with a 3.56 GPA in general studies with a social science concentration and has nearly completed a master's degree in sport administration.
Student-athletes are tabbed Academic All-Americans by compiling a cumulative 3.25 GPA and competing at the NCAA Championships.
The accomplished thrower added three Southland Conference titles and numerous individual meet wins to pair with her national honors.
She will begin her coaching career at West Monroe High School as an assistant track and field and girls basketball coach this coming school year.
