DALLAS -- Undefeated SMU posted straight set singles wins in every position on a windy Monday evening and blanked visiting Northwestern State 7-0 in women's college tennis.
The Mustangs (5-0) quickly captured the doubles point with wins of 6-0 at No. 2 and 6-1 at the third position, and efficiently completed the victory over NSU (0-2) in singles play.
The two closest singles matches were in the top two positions. SMU's Hristina Dishkova won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 over
Natalya Krutova, while Vaszilisza Bulgakova outlasted NSU's
Iryna Vardanian 6-3, 6-4 in the second spot.
The No. 4 match was NSU's next best performance as newcomer
Alzbeta Veverkova fell 6-1, 6-3 to SMU's Dasha Sharapova. The Lady Demons didn't capture more than two games in the other three singles contests.
After opening its season with two road matches, NSU is at home Wednesday at 1:30 against UL Monroe at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex.
