HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Familiar foes Northwestern State and Southern Mississippi meet Saturday morning in a non-conference women's tennis match.
 
The Lady Demons are looking for their first win in four tries in a demanding early season schedule. NSU fell 4-2 Wednesday in its home opener against UL Monroe.
 
USM (4-0) has posted four 7-0 victories over William Carey, Alcorn State, Jacksonville State and Alabama State.
 
The teams have met in fall tournaments and played a spring match annually for several seasons, although they did not meet last spring before NSU made its third NCAA Tournament appearance this decade. Saturday's meeting begins with doubles play at 11 a.m. at the USM Tennis Complex.
 
NSU will come home for its next action. Next Friday and Saturday, the Lady Demons host Texas-San Antonio, Texas State and Alcorn State for three matches.
