ABILENE, Texas – Riding a nine-match win-streak, the longest since the 2010 season, the Northwestern State tennis team heads to Southland Conference newcomer Abilene Christian Friday morning for a 10:30 dual at the Eagar Tennis Pavilion.
The Lady Demons (11-3 overall, 4-0 SLC) picked up league wins over Incarnate Word and Texas A&M – Corpus Christi over the weekend, while the Wildcats (11-2, 3-0) have won seven in a row, recently defeating conference foes Southeastern and New Orleans 5-2 in both matches.
Friday's meeting marks just the third dual between the two programs, with each team collecting one win. NSU holds the upper hand, claiming the 2013 contest 6-1.
Northwestern State will take the remainder of the weekend off before hosting Stephen F. Austin March 29 at 11:00 at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex.
