NATCHITOCHES – Coming off a tough weekend on the road, the Northwestern State tennis team opens its home slate Saturday at 10:00 with Louisiana-Lafayette and again on Sunday, with Texas-San Antonio and Prairie View A&M at 10:00 and 2:00, respectively, at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex.
The Lady Demons (2-3) dropped matches to then ranked No. 20 Auburn and No. 58 LSU last weekend.
The Ragin' Cajuns (3-5) suffered two losses in a pair of mid-week meetings with a 4-0 decision to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and a 4-3 battle with Southeastern Louisiana. UTSA holds a 4-5 overall record heading into the weekend, and will make a stop at Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday before coming to Natchitoches.
For the Panthers, Sunday marks the first meeting between the two programs.
Last season, NSU was victorious in a 6-1 dual with Louisiana-Lafayette, but struggled with UTSA, falling 4-3.
The Lady Demons remain at home the following weekend, hosting Texas State and Grambling on Mar. 2 at 10:00 and 2:00, respectively.
