TULSA, Okla. – Northwestern State had another exceptional day as the women's tennis team blanked Oral Roberts 7-0 on Sunday at the Case Tennis Complex.
 
The win moves the Lady Demons to 7-5 overall and 2-1 in Southland Conference play while the Golden Eagles drop to 1-8, 0-4.
 
“The girls played well today,” said NSU tennis head coach Patric DuBois. “They answered the challenge to stay focused and mentally tough throughout their individual matches.”
 
All three of NSU's doubles teams won to secure the doubles point for the Lady Demons and sent them into singles action with a 1-0 lead.
 
Tatiana Larina and Andrea Nedorostova defeated Haley Martin and Marizanne Bouwer at the No. 1 spot 8-2, improving their record to 10-2 this season.

Nedorostova now has a career doubles record of 64-9, which ties for the third most wins in NSU history. The senior needs just four more doubles wins to beat the record of 67 wins that former Lady Demon Bianca Schulz set from 2008-11. 
 
Polina Konop and Natalya Krutova took down Melanie Marlin and Victoria Dollar 8-5 in the second position while Amy Williams and Olga Leyshyna overpowered Natalia Dollar and Rachel Scroggs 8-7 (7-3) at the No. 3 spot.
 
In singles play, Konop won 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 1 position against Martin and Larina defeated Bouwer in the second spot 6-4, 6-2.
 
Krutova was successful in the No. 3 spot against Marlin, winning 6-1, 7-5 and Nedorostova took down Victoria Dollar 6-3, 6-0.
 
Leyshyna breezed past Natalia Dollar in the fifth position, allowing just one point in her 6-1, 6-0 victory.
 
Simonova battled in the closest match of the day as she overcame Scroggs 7-6 (5), 6-3 at the No. 6 spot.
 
“We need to build on this next weekend for our next SLC match against a very good Sam Houston team,” said DuBois.
 
The Lady Demons continue Southland play next weekend as they host Sam Houston State on Friday. The match is set for 2 o'clock at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex.
