NATCHITOCHES – The Northwestern State women's tennis team continues play at home on Thursday as the Lady Demons host non-conference rival Louisiana Tech at 2 o'clock at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex.
NSU (5-4 overall, 0-1 Southland Conference) comes off a tough 4-3 loss last Saturday to then No. 60 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
The Lady Techsters enter the match at 3-3 after defeating Southern 6-1 last weekend. All three of Louisiana Tech's losses have come against SLC teams.
Polina Konop and
Natalya Krutova lead the Lady Demon squad in singles competition, as both are 7-2 on the season.
Konop and Krutova have also teamed up to go 6-3 in doubles action at the No. 2 position.
Tatiana Larina and
Andrea Nedorostova lead NSU in doubles play with a record of 7-2 at the No. 1 spot.
Larina and Nedorostova each stand at 6-2 in singles competition.
Vivian ten Dolle has compiled a 5-1 singles record at the No. 1 position to lead the Lady Techsters into Thursday's match.
The senior is also 4-1 in doubles action with teammate Manoela Chiacchio in the first spot.
NSU travels to Conway, Ark. on Saturday to continue Southland Conference competition against Central Arkansas. The match is set to begin at 10 a.m. at the UCA Tennis Courts.
