SAN ANTONIO, Texas – After a thrilling 4-3 win at Texas State on Saturday, the Northwestern State women's tennis team will play its third straight road match against Texas-San Antonio on Sunday at 10 o'clock at the UTSA Tennis Center.
The Lady Demons and the Roadrunners each enter the match at 3-2 on the season.
UTSA most recently fell to Texas State 5-2 on Friday.
Polina Konop and
Natalya Krutova lead the Lady Demons at 4-1 in singles competition.
Konop registered her only loss of the season against Texas State on Saturday in her first-ever match at the No. 1 position.
Tatiana Larina and
Andrea Nedorostova both picked up wins against Texas State to improve their singles records to 3-2.
Freshman
Daniela Simonova picked up the match-clinching win for the Lady Demons on Saturday, improving her singles record to 2-1 in the sixth spot.
Larina and Nedorostova lead NSU in doubles play with a 4-1 record at the No. 1 spot.
Konop and Krutova are 3-2 in doubles competition at the No. 2 position and
Amy Williams and
Daniela Simonova stand at 1-2 in the third spot.
The Lady Demons return home next Friday to match up against Louisiana-Monroe at 1:30 at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex.
