Lady Demons set to take on Texas State on Saturday

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Polina Konop, who remains undefeated in singles this season, will lead the Northwestern State women's tennis team in its second straight road match as the Lady Demons take on Texas State Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
 
Konop improved her singles record to 4-0 after picking up the singular win for NSU (2-2) on Monday before the Lady Demons fell to Southern Methodist 6-1.
 
Texas State stands at 2-1 on the season, most recently falling to Houston 6-1 last Sunday. The Bobcats play Texas-San Antonio on Friday afternoon before taking on NSU on Saturday.
 
Freshman Natalya Krutova has also had an impressive start to the season, garnering a 3-1 record at the No. 3 spot with her only loss coming against SMU.
 
Tatiana Larina, Andrea Nedorostova and Amy Williams are each .500 in singles competition thus far at 2-2.
 
In double play, the duos of Larina and Nedorostova and Konop and Krutova picked up their first losses against the SMU and are now 3-1 at the No. 1 and 2 positions, respectively.
 
The Lady Demons continue their three-match road swing as they go up against Texas-San Antonio on Sunday. The match is set to begin at 11 o'clock.
