SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Samantha Roberts continued her heroics with a pair of homers, but the Northwestern State softball team slipped to Texas-San Antonio, 6-4, on Saturday at Roadrunner Field in the second game of the series.

The Lady Demons (13-21, 2-6 SLC) trailed 6-3 in the seventh inning when they loaded up the bases with one out. Kylie Roos hit a RBI fielder's choice to make it 6-4. With two outs and runners on the corners, Roberts was intentionally walked to load the bases. UTSA's (13-18, 3-3 SLC) Morgan Luksa was then able to strikeout the final batter of the game and earn her first save of the year.

Roberts' three-RBI day started in the fourth inning with a two-run bomb to left center. She drilled a solo shot in the sixth inning to rightfield to record her second multi-homer game of the year. Roberts previously launched three homers on March 20 in a 16-6 win over Jackson State, becoming the first-ever Lady Demon to do so in program history.

The Natchitoches and Ruston HS native hit a grand slam on Friday in game one against UTSA, and accounted for seven of NSU's nine runs in the series. She leads the team with seven homers on the year.

Kylie Roos extended her on-base streak to 12 games and tallied her second multi-hit game of the year with a singles up the middle in the second and fourth innings. On the mound, she pitched 5.2 innings of relief and struck out a pair.

Tara McKenney registered her 12th multi-hit game of the year with a single through the right side in the third inning and a knock to leftfield in the seventh.

Katy Atkins (1-2) earned the win for the Roadrunners, while Brooke Boening (3-4) picked up the loss for NSU.

UTSA scored two in the first inning and one in the second, third, fourth and sixth frames. Siera Sproul homered for the Roadrunners and Megan Low finished two-for-three with two runs scored and a RBI. The Roadrunners outhit NSU, 12-8.

The Lady Demons will be back in action on Sunday when they play a doubleheader at Sam Houston State starting at 3.
