2021 Fall: Special teams standout appeared in nine games ... blocked a punt against McNeese on Oct. 16, NSU’s first blocked punt in four seasons ... had one carry for 5 yards against McNeese ... recorded three special teams tackles — at Nicholls (Oct. 30), vs. Houston Baptist (Nov. 6) and at Southeastern (Nov. 13).
2021 Spring: Appeared in all six games, playing on multiple special teams units ... made four tackles, two against SLU and one each against Nicholls and UIW ... one rushing attempt for two yards against Sam Houston.
2019 Season: Sat out the season under NCAA transfer rules.
Prior to NSU: Redshirted at Harding University ... named to the President’s and Dean’s lists and had a 3.8 grade point average.
High School: Lettered three seasons for coach Spencer Heard’s Crimson Tide ... named all-district as a wide receiver (senior), running back (junior) and defensive back (sophomore) ... earned all-area recognition as a running back in his junior season ... helped Minden reach the playoffs all three seasons and post a combined 25-11 record ... four-year track letterman was the state runner-up in the 100 meters as a junior, clocking a 10.7 time ... ran the 100 and was part of the 4x100 and 4x200 relays for coach Michael Santelices ... named to the Composite Academic All-State Football and Track teams ... member of the Student Council and the National Honor Society ... graduated with a 4.0 grade point average.
Personal: Born March 27, 2000 ... son of Rachel and Spencer Heard ... father is the coach at Minden and a former Louisiana Tech wide receiver ... has one brother, Connor ... Dean’s List member is majoring in health and human performance with an emphasis on pre-physical therapy and has a 3.99 grade point average ... plans to attend physical therapy school and own his own clinic ... life’s ambition is to “honor God in everything I do, starting with being a great father, husband and friend to others.”
