Daniels quickly picked up the new Purple Swarm scheme in spring practice thanks to his solid fundamentals, intelligence and effort. He is a returning starter.
2008: Finished the year with 20 tackles, 12 of those solo, with three sacks and 5.5 tackles for a loss… also recovered one fumble… had a season-best five stops with two tackles for a loss and a sack in the season opener against Texas A&M-Commerce.
2007: Saw action in nine games recording six tackles, a half tackle for a loss, and a fumble recovery... had three stops at Northeastern.
2006: Played in eight games recording four tackles with a forced fumble… had two tackles against Arkansas-Monticello.
2005: Redshirted.
Daniels in High School: First-team all-district 4-5A junior season… second-team all-district 4-5A senior season… named to Capitol City All-Metro All-Star team… had 68 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and 5 passes defended in senior season… team went 8-22 in his three seasons… three-year letterman.
Daniels' Personal: Born May 13, 1987… son of Dwayne Morris and Ruth Daniels… two brothers, Darian and Elliott, and three sisters, Nicole, Keyonna, and Deandra… majoring in health and exercise science… nickname is “JD”… on track to graduate in December.
