2021 Fall: Appeared in all 11 games, starting eight, in his final college season ... caught a career-best 13 passes, ranking eighth on the team ... caught three passes against Southeastern for the second time in the season on Nov. 13 ... matched his career high with three catches against Southeastern on Oct. 23 ... set up NSU's second touchdown with an 18-yard catch against UIW on Oct. 2 ... posted a career-long, 36-yard catch at Alcorn on Sept. 11.Â
2021 Spring: Appeared in six games with three starts ... blocking tight end primarily who helped NSU rush for 168 yards per game ... helped paved the way for Scooter Adams, who had two 200-yard rushing games and one 100-yard effort ... caught two passes for seven yards.
2019 Season: Appeared in all 12 games, starting eight ... finished the season as NSU’s eighth-leading receiver with 16 catches ... tied his season high with three catches in the season finale against Stephen F. Austin ... punishing blocker had two-catch games at Sam Houston State (Nov. 16), vs. Central Arkansas (Oct. 19) and at Houston Baptist (Sept. 21) ... enjoyed a breakout game at No. 4 LSU on Sept. 14, catching three passes for 68 yards and a 26-yard touchdown -- his first career score ... caught a pair of passes for 14 yards in his Demons’ debut at UT Martin on Aug. 29.
Prior to NSU: A tight end at Tulsa who appeared in 11 games as a redshirt sophomore ... mostly a special teamer ... returned one kick for four yards ... made one tackle ... in 2017, appeared in all 12 games, mostly as a special teamer.
High School: Was a four-year letter winner for John Bachman Sr.’s Cavaliers ... was a 2016 NFF National High School Scholar-Athlete Award finalist for the South Region ... started three years on offense and two seasons at defensive end ... was the starting left tackle as a sophomore and junior and moved to tight end for his senior season ... helped lead his team to a 9-3 record as a senior, catching seven passes for 78 yards and two TDs from his tight end position and collecting 91 tackles and five sacks as a defensive end ... earned first-team all-city honors at defensive end, and first-team all-district merits at tight end and defensive end as a senior ... was an honorable mention all-state selection his senior season ... was on state championship teams as a sophomore and junior ... earned first-team all-district honors at left tackle his sophomore and junior seasons ... had 192 tackles, eight sacks, two interceptions and two caused fumbles in his career.
Personal: Born Feb. 26, 1997 ... son of Mike and Kelli Fitzwater, both teacher/coaches ... two brothers Malachi and Daniel Fitzwater ... Daniel was a backup at quarterback at ULM when he died in 2015 ... one older sister Mikaela ... biology major is a Dean’s List and President’s List member who has a 3.85 grade point average ... plans to go to medical school and be a family doctor ... life’s ambition is to live a life pleasing to the Lord and to care for his family.
