2021 Fall: Appeared in five games with five starts ... posted a season-best grade of 89 percent against Southeastern on Oct. 23 ... was NSU's top graded lineman against McNeese at 86 percent on 50 snaps on Oct. 16 ... shared the team lead as the highest-graded offensive lineman in an Oct. 9 win at Houston Baptist, grading at 81 percent in 90 snaps ... made his season debut against UIW on Oct. 2, grading at 85 percent across 84 snaps with five knockdowns.
2021 Spring: Second-Team All-Southland Conference in his first season starting ... SLC All-Academic Team ... left tackle who graded out at 85 percent with 44 knockdowns on an offense that averaged 168 rushing yards and 448 total yards per game ... started all six games at left tackle ... paved way for two 200-yard rushers and two 100-yard rushers as well as the NSU single-game passing record holder (477 passing yards).
2019 Season: Appeared in five games on the Demons’ offensive line ... saw action in four of the final games of the season ... made his Northwestern State debut at UT Martin on Aug. 29.
2018 Season: Redshirted because of an injury suffered in spring camp.
Prior to NSU: Played one season at Trinity Valley Community College for current Northwestern State offensive coordinator Brad Smiley ... started 10 games as a freshman and helped Trinity Valley win the Heart of Texas Bowl, the SWJCFC conference title and post a 9-3 record ... was named honorable mention All-SWJCFC after helping Trinity Valley average 462.8 yards and 41.3 points per game.
High School: Team captain at Harker Heights High School who helped lead his team to the playoffs in his senior season ... was a first-team all-district selection as a senior ... second-team all-district as a junior and lettered as a sophomore ... threw the discus in track and field and played three years of soccer as a goalkeeper, allowing just four goals in 12 games his final season ... National Honor Society member is a talented musician earning three first places in the UIL’s Varsity String Orchestra competition playing the string bass ... graduated with a 3.0 grade point average.
Personal: Born March 3, 1999 ... son of Stephanie Corbett and Clarence Canada ... stepfather is Errol Nelson ... has one stepbrother, Justin Nelson ... graduated with degrees in psychology and addiction studies and is pursuing a graduate degree in clinical counseling ... wants to work to spread the importance of mental health ... life’s ambition is to change the stigma of mental health in the black community.
