2019 Season: Appeared in four games as NSU’s No. 2 quarterback … completed two passes in all three games in which he attempted a pass … rushed for 10 yards on two carries against Lamar on Nov. 9 … went 2-for-4 passing for 14 yards and ran for nine yards at Houston Baptist on Sept. 21 … completed 2 of 3 passes at No. 4 LSU for seven yards … completed 2 of 4 passes for eight yards and added a 19-yard rush against Midwestern State.

Prior to NSU: Rivers served as the primary quarterback at UTSA in the final two games as a sophomore in 2018 … started the finale against North Texas, throwing for 269 yards on 20-of-32 passing with a touchdown and an interception in a 24-21 loss … rushed for a TD against UNT … primary QB vs. Marshall, threw for 158 yards on 16-of-31 … in three appearances, finished with 463 yards on 37-of-64 passing with two touchdowns and two interceptions …  threw a touchdown on his only attempt against FIU … as a freshman, appeared in three contests with his best effort coming against Southern (43 yards on 5-of-8).
 
High School: Earned second-team all-area and first-team All-District 28-6A Zone B honors as a senior at Stevens High … connected on 205-of-338 passes (60.7 percent) for 2,630 yards and 26 touchdowns and added another 147 yards and two scores on the ground that season … also played in the 2017 San Antonio All-Star Game … an honorable mention all-state and first-team All-District 27-6A Zone A selection as a junior … completed 236-of-385 throws (61.3 percent) for 3,411 yards and 30 TDs while adding another five scores on the ground in leading the team to a nine-win season … coached by Darryl Hemphill … also a two-time all-district performer in baseball.
 
Personal: Born Nov. 27, 1998 ... son of Ben and Tammy Rivers … dad is student life director at University of Texas Health Science Center … mom works in marketing at Santa Rosa Hospital … one younger sister Sydney … majoring in general studies with a concentration in health and education … plans to be a college football coach after graduation.
