Joined the team as a walk-on this season after participating in the Louisiana state all-star contest following his final prep season in Lake Charles ... lettered four years in both basketball and track as a prep and also earned one monogram in tennis ... played in wing position and small forward spots as a prep but will be moved to point guard at Northwestern .. as a junior helped team to 19-15 record, including the district title in 5-AA .. as a senior the record slipped to 15-17 but Hodgkins and his teammates did win the Starks Invitational Tournament that season ... as a junior he earned all-district honors and the following season he was all-district and all-state selection before playing in all-0star contest this past summer ... was named as Mr. offense by the Lake Charles American Press newspaper .. in track he won the district long jump title and holds the school record with a jump of 22-9 ... also finished fourth in the state in the high hurdles and holds school mark of 14.2 ... as a senior won high hurdles district and regional titles while placing third in state while improving his own best effort to the school record mentioned above ... was named a Mr. Athletic for St. Louis High in final year ... is the son of A. R. and Phyllis Hodgkins of Lake Charles ... is the youngest of two boys in family ... pre-law major with ambition for attending law school at Louisiana State University.
