1992-93 (from postseason guide): Since gaining her eligibility four games into the season, Smith emerged as the top offensive post player in the Southland Conference ... "We don't have anybody who can stop her, and nobody else in the league does, either." said Stephen F. Austin coach Gary Blair .. she transferred from Louisiana Tech, where she played a reserve role as a sophomore and just four games in her junior year before leaving the program ... has stepped right into a key role with the Lady Demons, leading the team in scoring nine times - tops on the team - in her 26 appearances ... has started the last 20 games at post and has led the team in rebounding nine times ... she has scored in double figures in 18 of her 26 games and has posted five 20-point games ... she's had 11 double-doubles ...
    Single-game highs; 26 points twice, most recently vs. SW Texas in the SLC semifinals; 17 rebounds vs. North Texas Dec. 31; 7 assists vs. Texas-San Antonio Feb. 20; 4 steals, last at Sam Houston Feb. 23; 5 blocks at San Francisco in her debut Dec. 19 ... scored a team-high 19 points, snagged 13 rebounds in that game ... 
    "Brena ranks fourth in the league in rebounding, third in field goal percentage (51.9) and fourth in blocked shots ... she sat out a year while transferring but became part of the community, joining the Natchitoches Interdominational Choir ... she sang a solo at the Natchitoches Folk Festival in an appearance with the group.

Before NSU (Louisiana Tech): Averaged 11 points per contest before leaving team four games into the 1990-91 season ... saw action in 32 contest as 1989-90 Lady Techster squad went 32-1 en route to the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship ... averaged 5.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in 14.5 minutes of play ... scored season-high 14 points against Kansas State (1/6/90) ... best rebound game came against Southwestern Louisiana (3/9/90) when she pulled down 12 boards .. fifth on team with 11 blocked shots.

High School: Gave every indication that she could compete at the collegiate level after averaging 21.4 points a game during a senior season that saw her named Outstanding Player in Class AAA ... also averaged 12.2 rebounds that year ... led Mansfield to the Sweet 16 two times, including a State Championship appearance her senior season ...
