• did not play while recovering from life-threatening injuries sustained in an Aug. 28 automobile accident
• suffered two fractured vertebra in his spinal column, bruised lungs and head injuries
• returned to school in January and was shooting soon afterward
• was dribbling a basketball in his hospital room within a couple of weeks after the accident
• accident occurred just four days after doctors had cleared him for a complete return to competition after a highly-successful rehabilitation from knee surgery

In 2008-09:

• played in 12 games and was in the midst of perhaps his best performance on 12/30 at home against Miami (OH) when he injured his knee late in a tight game and was lost for the year
• injury required surgery
• season highs of 8 points twice, vs. LSU (11/23) and East Texas Baptist (11/18)
• season highs of 3 rebounds three times, in those two games and vs. Southern-New Orleans (12/22)

In 2007-09:

• redshirted

In High School:

• second-team Class 3A All-State as a senior after averaging 24.5 ppg
• recipient of the Musemeche Scholarship presented by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association, nominated for the honor by his principal at Independence
• District 9-3A MVP for coach Terrance Joseph
• led Tigers to two straight district titles, state quarterfinal playoff appearances
• honors graduate (3.0 grade point average), National Honor Society member
