Jenny Fuller announced the addition of two experienced Division I transfers to the 2026 recruiting class on Thursday afternoon.

Prior to NSU
First-Team All-Panhandle Conference (NW Florida State – 2024)
Second-Team All-South Region (NW Florida State – 2024)
FCSAA All-Tournament Team (NW Florida State – 2024)
Played one season at Southeastern (2023) and one at Northwest Florida State (2024) before spending the 2025 season at UAB…started 27 games and made 39 appearances for the Blazers…hit .284 on the season with 19 hits and 19 runs scored and a .385 on-base percentage…collected six multi-hit games during the season…spent her sophomore season at Northwestern Florida State where she helped lead the Raiders to a fourth place finish in the NJCAA World Series…batted .409 on the season with 67 hits including seven doubles, three triples and four home runs while driving in 44 runs and scoring 48…collected 18 multi-hit games on the year with a 12-game hitting streak late in the season that was part of a stretch of 17 hits in 19 games to close the season where she batted .438 during that time…was teammates with fellow NSU newcomers Hayden Andrews and Sister Arnold…appeared in 39 games as a freshman for the Southeastern, primarily as a pinch runner, scoring 15 runs and stealing three bases.
High School
Two-sport athlete in softball and volleyball…three-time first-team all-district and Baton Rouge All-Metro player at Brusly HS following freshman, junior and senior seasons (no awards given in 2020 COVID season)…earned all-state honors following her senior year…scored the game-winning run for the Brusly in the 2019 state championship game as a freshman…on the volleyball court was named team defensive MVP in back-to-back seasons…recipient of Carli Jo David scholarship.
Personal
Daughter of Ava and Cliff Bourgoyne…has two brothers, Bray and Brody…majoring in kinesiology and plans to attend physical therapy school upon graduation…participated in Talented Art from first grade through high school and enjoys working on project in her spare time…has a dog named Lizzie and a cat named Sharkie…life's ambition is to "help people unlock their full physical potential, where in sports or everyday life," and "make a lasting impact on others and lead a meaningful and successful life."

"We are excited to add Britt to our team," Fuller said. "She is a big time addition to our program. She brings experience, athleticism and speed to our roster. Britt puts a lot of pressure on the defense from the batter's box and can play multiple positions on the field. We are excited for her to be a Demon."

Played two season for the Bulldogs at Louisiana Tech where she made 40 total appearances and 10 starts in the circle…tossed a total of 83.1 innings in two seasons in Ruston with a 3.28 ERA and a 4-7 overall record…named to 2024 Conference USA All-Freshman Team and earned CUSA Freshman of the Week honors during that season…produced a conference-best 1.57 ERA against CUSA foes in her first season at Tech…allowed two runs on three hits with seven strikeouts (career high) in her first career complete game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff during her sophomore season…earned her first career win by throwing 2.2 shutout innings of relief in Tech's 3-1 win at McNeese during her freshman season (her third career appearance).
High School
Four-year letter winner at Como Pickton HS across four sports (softball, volleyball, basketball track and field)…earned all-district honors three times in her prep career and was a two-time Texas Coaches' Association All-State selection…during her junior season she struck out 358 batters in 182.1 innings of work, a 13.7 K/7 rate, with a 1.27 ERA…also batted .603 at the plate with 13 home runs and 46 RBI with an OPS of 2.139…named district MVP following her senior season where she hit .462 on the season with 13 home runs and 48 RBI with an OPS of 1.567…named best right-handed pitcher in Texas by SBLive.
Personal
Daughter of Stephanie and Robert Buster…has one sister, Abbigale, and a dog named Oliver… mom was named Teacher of the Year in 2021…dad is a four-time top district sales manager for Keurig/Dr. Pepper…won a Christmas card drawing contest with her sister in 2021…majoring in biology with a chemistry minor and plans to attend medical school and pursue a career in sports medicine and orthopedic surgery.

"We are very excited to add Matti to Northwestern State softball," Fuller said. "First and foremost, she is a person of high character and an excellent student. On the field, she pitches at a high level, and will make an immediate impact on our pitching staff. Matti can mix speeds very well, and is a competitor in the circle. We believe her best days are ahead of her as a Demon."
Bourgoyne and Buster bring the 2026 signing class to 10 total that includes five junior college players and three high school signees.
