NATCHITOCHES—The first signee of the 2026-27 recruiting class is in for the Northwestern State women's basketball team, and it didn't have to look outside the state.
Stella Allison, a combo guard from French Settlement, becomes the first signing of the recruiting class.
The multi-sport standout has made first team all-district in each of her first three seasons, leading her team to 66 wins and a trip to the playoffs each season, including the third round in each of the past two seasons.
In those three seasons, she helped lead her team to three top 10 finishes in its division, including a No. 3 finish last season.
She is coming off a district MVP award and first team all-parish selection, being named to the LSWS 2A All-State Team when she averaged 19 points and six rebounds per game.
Allison also was named the district MVP and was named all-state as a sophomore.
Just entering her senior season, Allison is currently just 30 points shy of 2,000 in her career after reaching 1,000 points in not even two full seasons, doing so in her sophomore season.
In the past two seasons, Allison has been named Livingston Parish Small School Fab Five.
In addition to her prowess scoring, she also averaged more than two steals per game, adding another element that Nimz loves, as the Demons coach nabbed multiple players this past offseason in the portal who have a knack for recording steals.
She also made 70 3-pointers as a junior, another element Nimz loves.
Allison also excels as an infielder on the softball team.
In addition to her success on the court, she is an honor roll student and a Senior Class President.
NSU plays its second game in front of the home crowd Friday evening when it hosts Arkansas Baptist at 6:30 p.m.
