Jordan Todd had a monster game in an important 90-72 win against McNeese on Saturday. Her performance garnered a Southland Conference Player of the Week nod, the league office announced on Monday. It is the second weekly honor for Todd this season.
Thanks to her fifth double-double of the season and a masterful display around the basket, Todd scored a career-high 28 points and nabbed 11 rebounds to help snap the Lady Demons' (10-10, 3-6) five-game losing skid.
Todd established her dominance in the game right away scoring 13 points in the first quarter on a 6-for-8 effort, giving NSU some early confidence. She continued to have her way at the rim the rest of the day converting on 13-of-17 shots, a .765 percentage, and even added a pair of assists and blocks for icing on the cake.
For the week Todd averaged 17.0 points and 8.0 rebounds, shooting .682 from the field, as NSU split its two-game slate to begin the second half of the conference schedule.
Todd is averaging 8.6 points per game on the season and leads the team and is tied for second in the conference with 8.3 rebounds per game. She has the second-best shooting percentage in Southland games this year, converting 57 percent of her attempts against league opponents.
NSU makes its final road swing of the season beginning this week with a trip to UIW on Thursday and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday, before finishing the regular season with three straight home games.
