NATCHITOCHES – The Northwestern State soccer team will attempt to continue its recent success against ULM as the Warhawks visit the Lady Demon Soccer Complex on Sunday at 6 p.m.

NSU (0-3-2) have won three of the last four meetings against ULM (3-0) with the last two wins coming by three goals.

Senior forward Kalee Williams scored two goals in NSU's 3-0 win against ULM this past season while Kyle Nolen added her first career goal to account for the Lady Demons' tally.

NSU owns a 16-8 all-time record against the Warhawks.

After playing two straight Conference USA opponents, the Lady Demons post up against a ULM squad searching for its second 4-0 start in program history.

To open the season, the Warhawks have allowed nine or fewer shots against its opening three opponents (Texas Southern, Central Arkansas, Grambling State).

"We have to find ways to score, and Monroe is not going to let us do that easily," head coach Stuart Gore said. "We need to break that cycle Sunday night one way or another.

"We're looking forward to finding some shots on target, creating some opportunities, and hopefully a few will fall."

Admission is free thanks to the Demons Unlimited Foundation, and the event will also be broadcast via a paid live stream at nsudemons.com.

Asserting her dominance once again, Southland goalkeeper of the year Acelya Aydogmus' seven saves against Louisiana Tech in a double overtime affair secured the 0-0 draw for NSU. Aydogmus' 16th shutout of her career secured her spot at second in program history, three behind Tiffany Swingler (1998-01).

NSU's shutout of Tech is the Lady Demons' first this season after the defense posted a single-season record nine in a shortened 2020 season.

Kyle Nolen leads NSU in offensive stats, having tallied two goals on five shots. One of her two successes at the net came at No. 23 Rice, as Nolen found an opportunity high-right off a throw in by teammate Caroline Hilliard.

Following Sunday's contest, NSU remains at home to open Southland Conference play, hosting incumbent champions Southeastern Louisiana on Friday and Nicholls on Sunday.
