LAFAYETTE – Unlike Friday's match against Texas State, Northwestern State couldn't climb out of a two-goal deficit in the second half Sunday at UL Lafayette.
The Lady Demons put more pressure on the Ragin' Cajuns after halftime, but an early second-half flurry of goals carried ULL to a 2-0 victory.
ULL's Denice Emokpae scored in the 50
th minute and Taylor Kennedy added a tally in the 54
th minute.
Ragin Cajuns' Ashleigh Cade and Ally Busalacchi assisted on Emokpae's goal.
After being outshot 8-2 in the first half, NSU (2-3) played more evenly in terms of ball possession.
The Lady Demons outshot ULL 9-8 in the second half but couldn't come up with a goal for the second time this season.
ULL (2-3) held a 16-11 shots advantage with a 10-5 edge in shots on goal.

Jasmine Juarez adding two (one on goal).
ULL's Emokpae attempted seven shots with four on goal.

The Lady Demons finish the weekend 0-2 after falling to Texas State 3-2 in double overtime Friday despite scoring two goals late in regulation to force extra time.
The Lady Demons hit the road again as they travel to Jackson State on Friday and Mississippi Valley State on Sunday.
