HAMMOND – After review of field conditions due to Friday's rain storm, the second-seeded Northwestern State softball team will face top-seeded McNeese State in the semifinals of the Southland Conference Tournament at four o'clock Saturday afternoon at North Oak Park.
 
The Lady Demons (28-20 overall) defeated No. 6 Central Arkansas 5-3 Thursday evening to earn a spot in the semifinal game against the Cowgirls (39-15).
 
A win against McNeese on Saturday will give NSU a berth to the tournament championship on Sunday, and a loss will drop them into the loser's bracket for a fight to the title game, and a nine o'clock game Saturday night contest versus the winner of the previous game (game No. 8). Teams participating in game eight will be the winner of Sam Houston State versus Houston Baptist, and the winner of Stephen F. Austin versus UCA.
