HOUSTON – Northwestern State veteran standouts
Tatiana Larina and
Polina Ivanova will represent the reigning Southland Conference champion Lady Demons in the Jason's Deli Collegiate Invitational hosted by the University of Houston beginning Friday.
"We are very excited and looking forward to a great competition this weekend. It's going to be tough and competitive tennis with a lot of great teams," said first-year head coach
Olga Bazhanova.
"Tatiana has been playing very well this year. She is focused and ready to play her best tennis, as she did at regionals a couple of weeks ago," said Bazhanova. "Polina has been working hard as the rest of the girls have, and I am looking forward to see her improvement on the court this weekend."
Along with the host UH team and NSU, other schools represented in the three-day event are Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Lamar, Oklahoma, Rice, Sam Houston State, SMU, Syracuse, TCU and Tyler Junior College.
The SMU Blue and Red Challenge next weekend in Dallas wraps up the Lady Demons' fall schedule.
