NATCHITOCHES -- Seven current or former Northwestern State student-athletes were spotlighted during the recent Honors Academic Convocation and Reception hosted by the College of Arts, Letters, Graduate Studies and Research at the university.
Demoine Clark, a fullback who helped the Demon football team make three national playoff appearances during his career from 2001-04 , was recognized with the Criminal Justice Oustanding Alumnus Award. Clark is in law enforcement in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
Senior women's tennis team captain
Andrea Nedorostova, who recently broke the Lady Demons' career record for doubles wins, was presented the Outstanding Senior Mass Communication Award. She will be pursuing postgraduate studies at the University of Texas.
Record-setting Lady Demon track and field sprinter
Constance Seibles won the Outstanding Addiction Studies Graduating Senior Award.
Shana Lee, a former track and field competitors, was given the Senior Student Media Leader Award as editor of the NSU student yearbook, the Potpourri.

Joanna McFarling, and Paxton Guest of the Demon basketball team, received Louisiana Scholars' College Research Scholarship Awards.
Sports information videographer and graduate assistant Jimmie Walker was also recognized with the Senior Student Media Leader Award. He is in his second term as editor of the student newspaper The Current Sauce, and has also been active in the student-run radio station, KNWD FM.
