NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State football season ticket holders who live along Cane River and Sibley Lake will have a chance to show their Demon pride again this summer.
Members of the Northwestern athletic department and football team will hit those two bodies of water June 22 for their annual season ticket sign delivery.
The annual event is set to begin at 5 p.m. with department staff and select coaches boarding several boats to traverse the local bodies of water, placing NSU football season-ticket holder signs in the yards of those who would like to participate.
If you are a Demon football season-ticket holder and would like a yard sign placed in your yards along either the river or the lake, contact either Jordan Dupuy or
Rose Sarpy via email at
dupuyj@nsula.edu or
sarpy@nsula.edu. Please be sure to include your address and any identifying information regarding your property. Season ticket holders who wish to have a sign placed in their yard are asked to reply by June 10.
Fans are encouraged to meet the delivery boats alongside the shoreline for photo opportunities.
The boat rides are a summer tradition that unofficially signals the start of the run-up to the Aug. 27 season opener against Louisiana Christian in Natchitoches.
In addition to the Thursday-night season opener, the Demons have six total home games for the first time since 2014. Northwestern's home schedule also includes games against Southeastern Louisiana (Sept. 26), McNeese (Oct. 17), Nicholls (Homecoming, Oct. 24), UTRGV (Nov. 7) and Houston Christian (Nov. 14).
Football season tickets are on sale now, and fans can either purchase tickets online at
NSUTickets.com or in person at the ticket office, located inside the Donald G. Kelly Athletic Complex fieldhouse.
