LAKE CHARLES, La. – The Southland Conference contest between the Northwestern State Lady Demon softball team and McNeese State, regularly scheduled for one o'clock on Sunday, has been cancelled due to rain.
The Lady Demons (18-5, 0-2) dropped both games to the Cowgirls (17-7, 2-0) yesterday 1-0 and 5-2, respectively.
Cheyenne DelaGarza led from the plate, hitting three-for-six while picking up the lone RBI for NSU on the day.
Senior Kylie Roos (6-1) threw six complete innings allowing only two hits while striking out three in the 1-0 loss.
Senior Brooke Boening (5-3) and freshman Baylee Gray combined for six innings in the circle in game two to allow eight hits.
The Lady Demons returns home next weekend to host Nicholls State on Saturday beginning at 1:00 at the Lady Demon Diamond.
