Walker registers highest finish for NSU in first day of Howie Ryan Invitational

HOUSTON – Northwestern State's Justin Walker finished second in the prelims of the 60 meter dash on Friday night, highlighting the Demons' first day of action at Houston's Howie Ryan Invitational.
 
With the bulk of competition occurring on Saturday, the Lady Demons competed in just seven events while the men competed in four.
 
Walker covered the short distance with a blistering time of 6.80 and will compete in the finals on Saturday.
 
NSU's Kendal Taylor also finished in the top five in the 60m dash at 6.86 and will also be competing in the finals.
 
Top finishers for the Lady Demons include seniors Angelica Kotun in the B group of the 200m dash (4th, 25.67) and Sarah Jones in the B group of the long jump (6th, 17-08.25) along with junior Consuela Lindsay who took fifth in the B group of the 400m, clocking in at 59.18.
