NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State will host Texas-Arlington at 2 on Saturday in Prather Coliseum in the first of two remaining home women's basketball games of the season.
The Lady Demons (5-21, 1-12) have dropped nine straight games after an 80-64 loss at Sam Houston State this past Wednesday. It's the longest losing streak for the team since dropping nine consecutive games in the 2006-07 season.
UTA (6-19, 4-9) lost for the third straight game after Wednesday's 70-50 loss to McNeese State. The Mavs still have an outside shot of making the postseason Southland Conference tournament while the Lady Demons have been eliminated.
Leading NSU into Saturday's contest will be senior guard
Jordi James who has upped her team-high scoring average to 14.5 points a game after she drained 18 points in her last outing. She ranks ninth in the conference in scoring while junior forward
Trudy Armstead, who had 14 points and five rebounds on Wednesday, is fourth in the league with an 8.7 rebounding average and is tied for 13
th in scoring at 13.2 ppg.

Jasmine Upchurch is 15
th in scoring at 12.0 ppg; sixth in rebounding with an 8.2 average; and is second in field goal shooting with a 52.7 percentage. She also ranks 25
th in the nation in that category.
UTA, who ranks last in the league in scoring with a 54.0 average, does not have one player averaging in double-figures for the season and is led by Bianca Sauls' 6.7 points a game.
The Lady Demons will go into the final week of the season with a game at Nicholls State on Wednesday followed by the season finale on March 3 against Stephen F. Austin.
