Box Score BEAUMONT, Tex.- Kristen Bos' lone score gave Lamar a 1-0 win over the Northwestern State soccer team in Southland Conference action Sunday afternoon.
It was the fourth loss in a row for the Lady Demons (5-9-1, 0-3-1 SLC) who are on the outside looking in for the SLC tournament with just three games to go in the season.
At the 79-minute mark Bos knocked in a cross from Jannet Hernandez to push Lamar's record to 8-7-1 overall and 4-1 in conference.
“We just ran out of time,” said head coach
George Van Linder. “If we have that kind of effort again we expect a different result.”
NSU out-shot Lamar 18-13 and had multiple scoring opportunities as they were granted seven corner kicks.
Ashlee Savona led the Lady Demons with four shots.
“Usually when you hit the crossbar four times in a game you come out on top,” said head coach
George Van Linder.
Freshman goalkeeper
Brooke Bourbonais made three saves in net.
The Lady Demons return home on Friday to host McNeese at the Lady Demon soccer complex. Kick-off is slated for 7 o'clock.
