NATCHITOCHES – The Northwestern State Lady Demons return to action after a 9-day layoff on Friday when they'll be looking to close out the 2011 calendar year with a win when they host Jackson State at 7 in Prather Coliseum.
The Lady Demons (3-8) will also be looking to snap a 3-game losing streak with their most recent loss coming at the hands of Louisiana-Monroe by an 84-68 loss on Dec. 21.
Jackson State (2-6) lost to Southern Mississippi 70-55 in its last outing.
NSU will enter the contest averaging 67 points a game and is led in scoring by
Jordi James' 13.8 points per game followed by
Trudy Armstead at 12.4 ppg and a team-high 7.1 rebounds per game.
Ronikka Drake is averaging 10.2 ppg.
JSU is averaging 55.5 points a game and has only one player averaging in double-figures – Tiffany Kellum at 11.4 per game.
Following Friday's game, the Lady Demons will be back in action on Monday when they host LSU-Shreveport in the final tune-up before opening Southland Conference play on Jan. 7 at Texas State.
