At NSU: A three year starter, Olsen is the top returnee for McCalister's Lady Demon squad...Played every match and every game except one  last season putting down 218 kills, second only to Annie Bloxson recorded a team leading 265 digs...her 18 block solos and 35 block assists were also second bests for the 1989 squad...Has improved her statistics every season...Will be counted on as a team leader.

Pre-NSU: One of four California girls competing for the Lady Demons...The San Diego native was two sport participant at Patrick Henry High School earning letters in both softball and volleyball...She was named team MVP in both sports following her senior campaign.

Personal: Full name is Sonja Eileen Olsen...Will turn 22 on Nov 3...Daughter of Mr and Mrs Richard Olsen...Never gets a break from Coach McCalister as she is also the starting shortstop for the Lady Demon softball team...Has been a starter in both sports since her freshman year...Majoring in psychology...Will answer to the nickname "Betty Sue"
