Aric Anderson joined the Northwestern State volleyball staff in August of 2025.
He brings over 40 years of playing and coaching experience to the Demons across all levels of the sport.
“We couldn’t be more blessed to have Aric join us on staff this year,” first-year head coach Ben Kaszeta said. “Beyond the wealth of knowledge and experience he has with the sport, which will be a huge asset to us, his servant’s heart and genuine care for the girls will help shape our culture, great players and great people.”
Anderson worked eight years, from 2008-16, as a coach’s aide for the USA Men’s National Team under coaches John Sparaw and Alan Knipe. In that role he assisted in the execution of drills for the Men’s National Team and was responsible for running multiple practices during that time.
His keen eye for and development of talent spans the gamut of skill level from beginner club teams to elite high school and college players and beyond into international level competition.
That skill has led him to serve as a head coach and lead evaluator for more than a decade at USA Volleyball High Performance. Anderson also worked with Gold Medal Squared training beginner, intermediate and advanced volleyball skills and assisting coaches with establishing their own team’s systems.
At the college level, Anderson served as head coach of the men’s volleyball club team at Chapman University in Orange, Calif., where he led the Panthers to top 10 national rankings and a Division II National Runner Up (2016) in the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation (NCVF). He also won multiple Southern California Collegiate Volleyball League (SCCVL) Championships with Chapman.
Anderson also served as the club coach for the men’s team at USC for multiple years.
Before his time in the college ranks, he won four league championships and made multiple California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) appearances in both girl’s and boy’s volleyball while at Savanna High School in Anaheim.
Not limited to just indoor volleyball, Anderson also guided multiple pairs through the beach circuit including Junior National Qualifier Top 10 finishes with the Seal Beach Volleyball Club in the early 2000s.
His success on the coaching circuit allowed him to serve as the boy’s liaison on the USA Volleyball rules commission from 2018-22, where he helped advance the sport of volleyball with varying rule changes and updates.
His playing career, like his coaching career, has spanned all levels of the game. He was awarded Team MVPs, all-state, all-league, all-American and team captain honors as a player with Los Angeles Valley College, Loyola Marymount, Southern California Volleyball Association, USA Volleyball Association, National Senior Games Association and Huntsman World Games.
He was designated an AAA Grass player and AA Beach player and represented USAV men winning six national titles, 10 national runners-up and 15 bronze finishes.
