High School: As a senior, Aime led her team to a 25-8 record and an appearance in the quarterfinal round of the state playoffs...She was a three-time first-team All-District 30-5A selection...Won the District Most Valuable Player award in 1999...Aime was the MVP and also won first-team All-Area honors as a senior and was the All-Valley Offensive Player of the Year for coach Patricia Farias...She broke the school record with 786 kills and broke the school record with 452 blocks...At the outset of her senior year, Memorial did not earn a preseason Top 10 ranking for the first time in many years with only four returning players and a new coach, but at season's end team had captured district, bi-district and area championships...As a senior, she combined with teammate Monica Garza on the front line and they became known as the "Bash Sisters" in local media...In her four years, Memorial posted a 98-31 overall record, twice reaching the regional semifinals...Her teams won three district championships, three area championships and three bi-district titles...The 1997 team was ranked third statewide in Texas Class 5A and finished 31-5...In her junior season, she won the teams MVP, Best Hitter and Best Blocker awards and made the All-Valley first team...as a freshman, she was honorable mention All-District...She also played basketball as a freshman and a sophomore...Away from athletics, she was named a Texas Scholar and also participated in Heartline and Rotary Club.

Personal: Her father is a design engineer...20-year-old sister plays volleyball for Southland Conference rival Texas-San Antonio...Aime is president of an organization called "Monica's Angels" set up to provide support and financial assistance to a friend facing terminal cancer...Aime's ambition is to own and operate a restraunt called "Murphey's"...Her full name is Monica Aime garcia, and her nickname is "Gee Gee."
