Tyson Kygar is in his first season as a graduate manager on the Northwestern State after spending this past season as an assistant coach at Grossmont College in El Cajon, California.

Kygar helped lead his junior college alma mater to an 18-9 mark during the 2017-18 season.

Prior to coaching, Kygar played his junior and senior seasons at California State-San Marcos after transferring from Grossmont. During the 2016-17 season, he helped Cal State-San Marcos to an 18-10 record, averaging 11.3 points per game and breaking the school record for most career 3-pointers made with 140.

Kygar is pursuing a master's degree in health and human performance at Northwestern State.
