In her first season post-playing career at Northwestern State, Caroline Hilliard proved herself early as a coach, helping lead the Demons to their third ever Southland Conference regular season crown as a graduate assistant.
In her first season, she was a part of a coaching staff that helped head coach Ian Brophy earn SLC Coach of the Year honors.
Using the skills she learned as a player, she helped coach a back line that helped Jessica Spitzer be named conference defender of the year.
Overall, seven players were named all-conference, including five on the first team.
As an athlete, she played in 77 contests for the Demons, starting 66, both of which currently rank in the top 20 in program history.
A leader along the back line, she helped lead the Demons to their first Southland Conference championship in 16 years, earning SLC Freshman of the Year in the process.
In her four seasons on the back line for NSU, she helped contribute to 32 shutouts, including 12 in her freshman season in Natchitoches.
As a senior in 2024, she led a defense that posted six consecutive shutouts, tied for the longest streak in program history.
Hilliard is pursuing a master’s degree in health and human performance at Northwestern State.
