Katherine Grieder, just one of three seniors on this year's squad, will be called upon to be a leader on and off the court.

Junior (2002-03): Played in 21 games ... averaged 2.2 points per game with a high of seven points at Nicholls State on Feb. 20 ... pulled down 28 rebounds for a 1.3 per game average ... averaged 2.7 points and 1.3 rebounds in conference games only, playing in 15 games.

Sophomore (2001-02): Played in 29 games, with two starts ... averaged 4.7 ppg but clicked for double figures on five occasions ... career-high 16 points vs. Jackson State (12/8) ... also hauled down 11 rebounds for her first career double-double ... was 3-7 from beyond the arc vs. JSU .. the 11 rebounds were also a career-high ... 13 points in just 26 minutes vs. SE Louisiana, three-of-four from three-point land vs. Lady Lions as well ... 10 points in just 14 minutes vs. Centenary (2/13), on 3-4 FG and 4-4 FT ... career-high four assists at Nicholls State (1/14) ... 10 points, six rebounds, three blocks and three assists vs. Texas-Arlington (2/23) in perhaps her mot complete performance.

Freshman (2000-01): Played in 23 games while starting eight ... averaged 3.3 points and 2.0 rebounds per game ... led the team in 3-point percentage and free throw percentage ... scored a season and career-high 11 points against Nicholls State (12/16) ... repeated that performance against McNeese (1/4) with 11 points ... pulled down a season-high eight rebounds and added six points against Sam Houston (1/1).

High School:  Earned four letters in basketball and one in track ... team advanced to the state playoffs all four years ... Byrd HS finished second in the state in 5-A playoffs as a freshman and a sophomore ... was team captain as a sophomore, junior and senior ... earned second team All-District honors as a sophomore ... named to the All-District First Team as a junior ... was a First Team All-District selection, All-City and named to the CNB Classic All-Tournament team as a senior ... averaged 13 points per game her senior year .. was a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Physics Club and the Z-Club.

Personal: Majoring in elementary education ... daughter of Dick and Sally Grieder ... has one brother, Reggie and two sisters - Caroline and Kacie .. nickname is "Kat"
