Assisting Coach Pierson this year will be graduate assistant and former Lady Demon Linda Jones. Jones played both basketball and softball for Northwestern from 1977 until 1981. The new assistant from Fort Walton Beach, Florida held the guard position in basketball and the shortstop spot in softball.

When playing for the Lady Demons, assists was the name of Linda's game. She holds about every assist record associated with Lady Demon basketball.

The Northwestern standout broke her own school record in her junior year by handing out 220 assists in 36 games for an average of 6.1 a game. The old record set by Linda the previous year was 136 assists in 27 games for a 5.0 game average. Even though her average was not quite as good in her senior year, she did hold the school record oce more with 105 assists in 30 games.

After the completion of her career at Northwestern, Linda ranked in the top 10 career scoring, rebounding, field goal, and free throw percentage.

the former Northwestern student majored in Health, Safety, and Physical Education. Included in her goals are teaching physical education and coaching at the college level. Being able to help out with the Northwestern team has provided a start in fulfilling a portion of these goals.
